Stanislav Nikolaev

Stanislav Nikolaev has proven track record in the field of banking and retail, with experience in financial, operational and team management.

Stanislav is a professional with more than 20 years of experience in both international and local companies in Bulgaria and the UK.

Prior to joining Empower Capital Fund in November 2014, Stanislav gained experience first in the Financial and Overseas Departments of the largest Bulgarian shipping company, where he started his professional career, at management positions at ING Bank Sofia Branch and Raiffeisenbank and also in executive roles as COO and CFO in retail companies like “Piccadilly” and the gas-stations operator “Petrol”. Stanislav was part of the management team that led the growth and the expansion of the supermarket chain “Piccadilly” to a national player and successfully negotiated and completed the sale of the company to the Serbian group “Delta” in 2007.

Stanislav graduated from the University of Lille II in France with MA in Economics and Finance and holds post-graduation specialization diploma (DESS) in Financial Management from CEU in Nancy. Stanislav is fluent in Bulgarian, English and French, conversational in Russian and Italian.

Projects and responsibilities: As an Operating Partner and COO at Empower Capital, Stanislav is responsible for administration, reporting, compliance, controlling and fund relations. In addition, he has been Lead Partner in the following projects: Cremio, Fidelis Research, MammothDB, and The Bakers Company.
