Tihomir Dyankov, CFA

Investment Manager

Tihomir Dyankov is an investment professional with over 5 years of experience in public equity markets, risk management and private equity.

Tihomir joined the Empower Capital team in 2015, working on projects in the facility management, retail, technology and mining & waste recycling sectors. He conducts financial and operational due diligence, corporate analysis and assessment of operational strategy in potential investees in Bulgaria and the CEE region.

Prior to Empower Capital, Tihomir started his professional career singlehandedly managing the equity portfolio of one of the biggest private pension fund managers in Bulgaria DSK-RODINA (part of the OTP Group) with assets under management surpassing €600mln. At DSK-RODINA, Tihomir was responsible for equity/fund long-only exposure, portfolio structure, hedging strategies and implementation of risk mitigation procedures. During the three years he worked for DSK, the return on the pension fund assets repeatedly outperformed the performance of competitors in the sector.

Tihomir holds an MSc in Financial Economics from The University of Oxford and a BA magna cum laude from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) with a double major in Applied Economics and Political Science & International Relations. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation after successfully completing the CFA Institute program.

Additionally, Tihomir is actively involved with AUBG giving thematic lectures to current students related to his professional experience, while also supporting career development services at the university.

Projects and responsibilities:

As an Investment Manager at Empower Capital, Tihomir is responsible for conducting operational and financial due diligence, while actively participating in the development and operational implementation of business strategy in investees. He has participated in the following deals: Mundus Services, The Bakers Company and Cycle GETS.
